How to protect yourself against telemarketing scams?

August 19, 2008 by idhelper

Con artists that pose as telemarketers are usually very skilled at deceiving you with a false sales pitch, and part of the reason is because they are typically selling something that is highly appealing such as:

- Pre-approved credit cards
- Warranties for cars, household items,
- Lower interest rates
- Credit card protection
- Etc.

Furthermore, what you will discover is that many of the con artists behind the phone solicitation scams tend to...
-be fast talkers who don't allow you to talk much, or make queries,
-dodge questions, or answer a question with a question
-make further attempts to rope you into the scam by declaring what they are offering is a one-time deal.
-ask for your personal identification shortly into the call or before the call is over
